We are still in semester holiday. And yes as i expected, we still have many works to do during this semester holiday. typical work for a new lecturer like me. this week we kind of busy with many training and workshop programmes. last 2 days, i have attended the GCMS training and this training program were given by D for Damian from Varian, the supplier for the GCMS. so class do you know what is GCMS stand for?anyone? GCMS is stand for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. An equipment that can be used to analyze a sample so that we can verify each component that present in a substance. but unfortunately we can only involved in the theory part of the GCMS training. we did not able to attend the hands on part since we need to attend one other training program and meeting with our external examiner from Melbourne University.
So next, we move to another D. D for David. he is our external examiner for Australia. yesterday, we had a brief meeting with him and today we attend his workshop where in this workshop he taught us a better way to teach the students. he gave us some good information to be a better lecturer instead of just stand at the front, read the slide and hope that the student understand what we said. it is better to have an active learning process so we able to transfer the knowledge better and at the same time we know that they understand. tough job but we have to. so for these 3 days..they definitely make my dark brown eyes blue..hehe
